Talent International are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Payable / Accounts Receiavle clerk to work for a NSW government department based in Sydney CBD. This position is an initial 6 month contract role with the view to be extended and is paying a daily rate of $340 per day plus superannuation. 

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Perform all accounts payable and receivable activities for the organisation in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with government regulations, treasurer's directions and supplier's credit terms.
  • Processing of accounts payable functions such as checking that invoices are correct, all supporting documentation is attached, check for double payments and ensure the correct delegations are utilised.
  • Undertake timely processing of payments via EFT and cheque.
  • Examine, calculate and certify that all claims and advances are correct for processing.
  • Provide timely advice and information to bother internal and external clients about expenditure policies, petty cash and procedures that are used by the office.
  • Maintain ledger accounts and undertake balance sheet reconcilliations of bank, advances and creditor accounts.
  • Check that purchasing card transactions are correctly recorded and are submitted in a timely manner and provide assistance in the processing of travel reimbursements and advances.
Essential Requirements:
  • At least 3 years Previous experience in a similar role
  • Accounts Receiable and Accounts Payable experience
  • good time management
  • Excellent computer literacy skills
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Available immediately to commence.
