Job Description

Our client, one of Australia's leading education providers, is looking for an Active Directory Engineer to join their team in a newly appointed role. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong AD focus and a passion for ongoing continuous improvement to make a genuine difference to the team in a specialist capacity.

Your key responsibilities:
  • Assessing the existing infrastructure and developing Microsoft systems management strategies, standards, and lifecycle plans
  • Designing, planning and implementing new services or upgrades to existing Active Directory services
  • Helping to maintain a standard, stable and robust Microsoft Active Directory environment.
  • Using your strong problem diagnoses skills to correct and.or escalate support of Microsoft technologies across the organisation
  • Participate in server upgrades (hardware and software) and other general maintenance tasks of Active
  • Oversee Active Directory environments, including development, quality assurance, and production
  • Monitor releases and patches to operating systems, applications, and making recommendations on implementation and testing strategies
  • Set up and maintaining an effective testing environment and test changes to production servers in a controlled environment
  • Develop policies procedures and other documentation required to support the Active Directory environment
Your skills and experience:
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (domain and federation services; AD CS, PKI, authentication protocols like Kerberos and NTLM)
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementation, management, configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Active Directory and associated server technologies
  • Excellent analytical, investigative and problem solving skills, including the ability to identify solutions to challenging issues.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows Server administration and management
