Working with this major mining client you'll be delivering diverse Business Analysis services for a portfolio of projects. There is a key focus on Agile software development and DevOps environments and you will be delivering services in an area that highly values your ability to challenge and ask insightful questions.  

The Business Analyst is responsible for moving demand through our demand pipeline. This includes the co-ordination of functional and technical requirements gathering that meets the business requirements for a specific business need / problem statement; estimations for prefeasibility and options analysis, feasibility and execution of the relevant solutions. Duties includes co-ordination methodical investigation, analysis, review and documentation of all or part of the organisation's business, including its business intentions, services, processes and information needs.

The Business Analyst is regarded as a conduit between the business units, organisational stakeholders and solution shaping and delivery teams. A Business Analyst will liaise with key stakeholders to develop a solid understanding of how the business is currently operating and the future goals of the business. The Business Analyst will then assist the business in identifying the best way to effect business change for achieving its business goals.

Key Criteria:
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience in a business analytical role, preferably in a complex program/project environment working in cross-functional (and virtual)
  • Clear experience working within Agile environments
  • Demonstrated project history working on software development or customisations 
  • Have previously worked closely with developers and other technical staff in a DevOps environment 
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Strong project management and reporting skills
  • Ability to work in complex organisational environments (ie matrix) and with remote teams
  • Ability to plan work to meet deadlines
  • Facilitation skills
  • A keen focus on minimising the impacts that a technology project can have on the end user experience
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple projects at one time
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills, and confidence to operate at all levels of the business
Highly Desirable skills/specialties:
  • Bachelor's degree relevant to project(s) of work
  • Resource / Heavy industry experience
  • Site based experience or significant experience in collaborating with site-based stakeholder
  • Mining / Production Systems & Infrastructure Implementation experience
  • Certification or demonstrated experience with the BABOK framework
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills, and confidence to operate at all levels of the business
  • Experience as a Business Analysis in Agile teams or Agile Project Delivery
