Job Description

We are currently looking for a Business Analyst for a 3 + 3 month contract with a large government organisation based in Brisbane CBD. The purpose of this role is to support the project manager by contributing business analysis services towards the successful delivery of a single network integration project (SNIP).

The Project:

The project has identified an opportunity to deliver further functionality and optimisations within the existing budget. A Business Analyst is required to undertake activities that will determine the exact scope of this opportunity and produce a number of artefacts to support extending the project schedule beyond the original approved date, including but not limited to:
  • Business Requirements Specification
  • Exception Report
The position will also contribute to the development and delivery of project documents including:
  • Business Case (inclusive of options analysis)
  • Project Schedule
  • Benefits Realisation Plan.
  • Plan Business Analysis Approach
  • Conduct Stakeholder Analysis
  • Plan Business Analysis Activities
  • Plan Business Analysis Communication
  • Plan Requirements Management process
  • Conduct Business Requirements Elicitation
  • Manage Business Requirements and Requirements Traceability

  • Document Business Requirements Specification
  • Document and Confirm Elicitation Results
  • Document Business Processes (As-Is and to-Be)

  • Prioritise / Organise Requirements
  • Assess Capability Gaps
  • Determine Solution Approach
  • Define Solution Scope
  • Undertake risk management activities (identification, documentation, analysis)
  • Proven high level of expertise in establishing and documenting ICT business and system requirements through a range of structured research and analysis techniques including, but not limited to, facilitate stakeholder workshops, surveys, client meetings and industry reference reviews.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in delivering project products (preferably using Prince2 methodology), working to tight deadlines and demonstrating strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and manage strong working relationships and work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team; including both technical and business staff.
  • Proven effective oral and written communication skills, and an ability to work in a team environment developing effective relationships with stakeholders and an ability to coordinate multiple tasks within agreed priorities, timeframes and accountabilities.
