The IT Commercial Analyst is responsible for providing commercial, contractual, analytical and reporting support and other related activities across a portfolio of IT contracts.

Maintain Contract Repository and Contract Related registers

Our client uses Sirion Labs to maintain all Third Party Vendor relationships. The IT Commercial Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the finalisation of contract approvals and maintaining database integrity by loading and segmenting contracts into relevant relationship hierarchies.

Maintain all other contract related registers and trackers, including the risk register, obligations tracker, performance management registers, issue and dispute registers and follow up on contract's status and actions required.


Governance and Meeting Minutes

The Procurement & Commercial management functions are responsible for a series of key recurring meetings with internal stakeholders and external vendors. The IT Commercial Analyst will be required to attend meetings to keep track of deliverables and minute as required and assist in the development of documentation for governance forums including operational and contract commercial reporting. 


Example meetings are included below:
 
  • Supplier Performance Governance Committee (SPGC) - monthly
  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) meetings for key (Tier1) suppliers - monthly
  •  Procurement & Commercial Management team meetings - weekly
  • Sanagi Commercial Management meeting - fortnightly

Develop documentation for governance forums including operational and contract commercial reporting. 

High Level Financial Analysis

Under the guidance of Commercial managers contribute to cost-benefit analysis, evaluation matrix development and review of Commercial models.

Analyse large and complex spend data, service and performance data and produce coherent reporting to facilitate key decision making across a portfolio of contracts.

Statement of Work (SOW) Development 

Responsible for developing and reviewing SOWs with the Commercial Management team and vendor contracts for low value low risk SOWs. 

Sourcing Strategies/Category Plans

Assist in the development, and update periodically Sourcing Strategies/Category Plans which captures key areas of spend and their associated value and assist in performance monitoring.

Skills
The IT Commercial Analyst will rely on a combination of soft skills and technical knowledge of their specific industry (preferable a technology background) in order to do their jobs well. You will be an analytical thinker who is able to process a large sum of information, and make decisions based on said information. You will also have to be comfortable speaking in front of small groups, as they often find themselves presenting their opinions to stakeholders on both side of the process. You will also be comfortable liaising with external vendors and partners.  A good understanding of the end to end technology stack and exposure to large technology programs would be an advantage.


Analytical Skills: Your analytical skills will be used to compare vendors based on a variety of factors. Proficiency in Excel / Powerpoint is required


Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Use your strong written and verbal communication skills to review and update the final contract used for vendors. Excellent writing skills required


Negotiation Skills and Contracting Skills: You will call upon your negotiation skills to get the best terms possible from vendors. This involves having a deep understanding of the company's goals and budget and you will have strong contracting and drafting skills and understanding of contracts and SOWs.


Decision Making Skills: A primary responsibility of IT Commercial Analyst is deciding whether or not to purchase from a particular vendor. Exceptional decision-making skills are pivotal to success in this role.


Collaborative Skills: You will work with multiple business units to understand their needs, and mutually collaborate with your Sourcing & Partnership colleagues.


You will also closely work with the Finance & Legal functions when negotiating vendor contracts.
