Talent International are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor to work for one of our Local Government clients based in Merrylands. This position is a temporary contract for 6 weeks initially with the view to be extended and is paying an hourly rate between $45-50 + superannuation.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Provide Award/Agreement and policy interpretation advice
  • Update Human Resources policies and draft new policies to ensure they are current andrelevant
  • Manage Council's Job Evaluation System (MJES Job EvaluationSystem)
  • Prepare HR related documentation
  • Develop and conduct training and information sessions as required, including online training programs
  • Manage HR related projects asrequired
  • Maintain current knowledge of legislation and Human Resources best practiceapproaches
  • Assist in the maintenance of the organisational structure and payroll related information in TechOne.
  • Provide advice and support to Managers in relation to Performance Management and Industrial Relations issues
  • Conduct and coordinate workplace investigations Recruitment and Selection
  • Provide advice and support to Managers on recruitment and selection matters

Essential Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline
  • Significant experience working in a Human Resources generalistenvironment
  • Sound knowledge of industrial relations legislation and bestpractice
  • Ability to interpret legislation and Awards/Agreements in an effectivemanner
  • Capability to identify, analyse and resolve problems
  • Computer literacy, particularly in the MS Office Suite and HR Information Systems
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills including strong negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated abilities in building relationships with a wide range of people at all levels of an organisation
  • Proven ability to work productively as a member of a team and contribute to teamgoalsCurrent driver'slicence.
  • Experience working within a Local Government environment would be desirable
  • Experience in utilising the Tech Onesystem would be desirable
