Job Description

Our client is a well-establish Australian financial organisation and they are looking to engage an Implementation Project Manager to join their team on a fixed-term basis, with potential to go permanent afterwards depending on your background! Initially, you will act as the technical expert to assist both onshore and offshore delivery teams for a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) implementation project!

We are ideally looking for an experienced Project Manager with a financial services/insurance background, with delivery experience of COTS implementations. You will be a strong leader, passionate about the end-result, who is able to work collaboratively and influence stakeholders within the organisation to ensure that deliverables exceed industry standards.

Responsibilities
  • Engage and build relationships with stakeholders to determine requirements to meet the business outcomes
  • Contributing to business cases, feasibility studies and facilitating workshops
  • Work across multiple teams across the organisation as well as external teams such as vendors, including offshore
  • Actively engage in processes used by the team including; estimating, stand-ups, retrospectives, showcasing, and sprint planning
  • Ensure project comply with policies, processes, quality standards and regulatory and statutory requirements
Your Experience
  • Solid understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Scrum/Agile delivery experience across multiple environments is ideal
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills to build relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation as well as the ability to work with and influence cross-functional teams
  • Preparation and maintenance of appropriate project documentation in accordance with the requirements of the Project Management Methodology and contractual obligations, including the project initiation documentation
  • Monitor and manage project issues and actions, and managing the escalation of issues and problems (technical and non-technical) through a pre-defined and formal process
  • Offshore experience working with external vendors
  • Experience with organisational change management activities
Highly Desirable
  • Experience from a financial services background (banking, insurance, superannuation etc.)
  • Past experience with the implementation of Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms
  • Managed projects involving cloud and implementations
