Job Description

Talent International are currently recruiting for an experienced Injury Rehabilitation Advisor to work for one of our NSW Government clients based in Sydney CBD. This position is a contract position till July 2020 with the possibility of being extended and is paying an hourly rate of $50 per hour plus superannuation.

Purpose:

To provide timely and efficient injury management and rehabilitation advisory and administration support across all stages of the injury and recovery at work programs

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide the first point of contact and manage through the early intervention phase
  • Lodge injury / illness notification and reporting in accordance with the early intervention model timeframes
  • Cover injury assessment and triaging
  • Provide early intervention advice to work related and non-work related health matters
  • Interpret and apply relevant legislation, procedures and policies
  • Register new injuries
  • Arrange medical consultations
  • Respond to workflow in the IM Mailboxes to ensure a quality service to staff and managers including; tailoring doctor letters / medical forms in accordance with the condition, Identify and escalate injury trends identified, Escalate to ongoing specialist case management as appropriate, Escalate and assist to address late reporting issues
  • Contacting doctors as required to discuss diagnosis, fitness status
  • Fast track urgent early intervention referrals / approvals
  • Assist with case management activities that are anticipated to be resolved in the early intervention stages
  • Provide support in the monitoring of cases
  • Assist with the development, coordination and monitoring of rehabilitation and return to work plans
  • Reviewing & interpreting medical certificates, referrals
  • Provide information on the rehabilitation and recovery at work process to managers and staff
  • Coach and support line managers with the early intervention process in accordance with relevant internal policy and Workers Compensation and Injury Management legislation
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments as part of early intervention
  • Educate, coach and support
  • Educate and inform staff about injury management and the requirements of the workers compensation system.
  • Provide guidance and advice to managers and staff on non-work related injury / illness processes
  • Provide education to aid in the recovery of workplace injuries and incidents
  • General administrative support
  • Manage the incident recording system to ensure accuracy in injury data and classification status (SWIRL)
  • Provide education to aid in the recovery of workplace injuries and incidents
  • Injury Connect administration as required

To Be Successful, you must have the following:
  • At least 3+ years recent experience in the workplace rehabilitation industry
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Accredited Return to Work Co-ordinator current accreditation as required WorkCover NSW
  • Strongly desired: Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational therapy, Physiotherapy or health related profession
  • Strong understanding of the role and expertise of health professionals involved in workplace rehabilitation
  • Excellent knowledge of implications of injuries / illness & anticipated recovery timeframes
  • Effective time management skills, highly organised with ability to be flexible to manage and deliver competing day to day priorities, balancing conflicting requirements from a diverse range of stakeholders
  • A professional approach, attention to detail, good communication skill
  • Ability to guide and educate managers and employees in the injury management reporting process and increase capability in self service
  • Data analysis experience
  • Customer relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Adhere to and work with set policies, systems and procedures and refer to a higher level where appropriate
