Talent International are currently recruiting for an experienced Media and Communications Specialist to work for one of our local government agencies based in Sydney CBD. This position will be a contract role and is paying an hourly rate of $54 per hour plus superannuation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Help develop an overarching media strategy for the festival and key events
  • Researching, developing and writing a range of creative stories for media
  • Producing a suite of media releases, alerts and feature stories
  • Assisting with the coordination and management of several media launches, photo opportunities and interviews with festival spokespeople, ambassadors and talent
  • Providing materials as appropriate for the evaluation report at the conclusion of the festival 

Selection criteria: 
  • Extensive experience working on large-scale media campaigns for major events or projects, and/or extensive experience as a news journalist
  • Proven expertise in generating creative content across all media channels
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, organisation and time-management
  • Established network of relevant media industry and journalist contacts
Exact hours and days throughout this period will be agreed between the successful candidate and reporting manager, however we anticipate two days per week in November, increasing to five days per week in mid-January until the end of the festival, with a maximum of 250 hours in total.
