This global IT Product & Solutions company is currently seeking an experienced Operations Director to join their leadership team and successfully lead and deliver the Operational activities for their Australian business.  

Responsibilities & Major functions:
  • Lead and control all operational and planning activities of the business including production, output, quality and quantity, freight and logistics, cost, time available etc
  • Direct and control improvement practices of the business including Lean Manufacturing & Agile, ensure Digitalization and Automation is implemented to align with best practice
  • Control and direct the use of production plant facilities through planning of maintenance, inventory controls, designation of operating hours, technological resources, assets etc
  • Lead the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives across all areas of Operations, developing strategy, standard methods, training materials, coaching and mentoring employees 
  • Manage the collection of operational information and the preparation of budgets, reports, forecasts, and operational reports
  • Control activities such as technical support, definition, development, and enhancement of new and existing production applications, software
  • Ensure production equipment and facilities enable products and services to be processed, personalised and dispatched in accordance with SLAs
Skills and experience
  • Experience leading all aspects of Operations including Engineering, Production & Maintenance services
  • Minimum 10+ years management and team leadership experience 
  • Demonstrated experience in Automation and Digitalisation implementations
  • Experience delivering high Quality and Security standards/outcomes
  • Proven experience driving efficiencies in a Production environment
  • Ability to achieve deliverables across a cross-matrix environment (operations, technical, customer service etc.)
  • A strong understanding of production, distribution, and engineering methodology principles including planning, lean manufacturing, six sigma, operating procedures
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise, proactively identify and mitigate risks and proven ability to multi-task
  • Excellent people leadership skills to ensure the team is engaged and aligned with the customer
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal), presentation and report writing skills
