As the Prepaid Testing & Support Engineer you will work in the Integration & Maintenance Engineering team which is responsible for the testing and integration of new releases of software, hardware and services into the network. The holder will primarily work in the Prepaid Integration and Maintenance Area. The primary platforms the applicant is expected to work on include but not limited to Prepaid and Charging.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tier 3 faults and maintenance support to Business Network and Consumer Operations and Engineering.
  • Assist in new product testing and integration into the production network, including vendor management for resolution of all software deficiencies prior to deployment.
  • Participate in production network cutover procedures ensuring minimal customer impact and including seamless network rollback activities if required.
  • Overall ownership of various products in relation to Operations.
  • Reduce downtime/outages on production elements by ensuring best practices and supported software configurations are in-use.
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades on production elements.
  • Perform testing on new software and hardware elements.
  • Investigate, develop and deploy new features or designs that will improve the efficiency of existing infrastructure.
  • Develop well-prepared, accurate engineering network design and testing documentation.
  • Perform assessment of existing network elements and implement design updates as required to ensure all network components meet the network design specifications.
  • Maintain test environments at production levels to allow meaningful project testing and production support.
About you:
  • Experience in Telecoms Mobile Networks (as opposed to IT and billing). Previously have worked on Prepaid recently.
  • Highly desirable hands on experience working on the Ericsson OCS platform - mandatory.
  • Undertaken a testing and integration role in the as opposed to a planning or platform owner role - mandatory
  • Understand end to end call Prepaid flows of data, voice, messaging and VoLTE call scenarios.
  • At least 5 years experience is preferable in Prepaid.
  • Good understanding of databases
  • Experience in Virtualization . Eg: NFVI, VMware, RHEV preferable
  • Experience in bash and python scripting preferable
  • Experience in automation tools in Telco environment
  • Good understanding of how provisioning works
  • Experience in managing large and complicated upgrades and cutovers.
  • The expectation is the candidate will need to work non core hours as required including during the maintenance window from 23:00 to 06:00
