Our client is a large national organisation. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Systems Engineering Manager with many years of experience in a large enterprise Software / Product development.

Key responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of the product taskings to improve, refine and iterate the performance and functionality of the core product
  • Manage the allocated development activities and schedule to progress the product
  • Manage and facilitate discussions regarding activity scope, need and rationale within current and upcoming development activities
  • Provide support to the Project Manager to coordinate the Installation, Test, Trials and Deployment activities
  • Coordinate the team, personnel and contractors to ensure development activities are conducted according to schedule
  • Hold accountable the project team to committed schedules, budgets and quality
  • Control, update and report on development activity project costs
  • Update, coordinate and facilitate the Project Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management, recording decisions made and coordination of Iteration review and planning processes
  • Prepare accurate and timely project reporting, including financial, commercial, risk, change and progress components
  • Represent product system reviews, project working groups or committees as required, to review development activities and ensure the product provides a safe and operationally acceptable system
Key skills:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Communications, Systems or Signalling), Technology or equivalent related experience
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, deployment and organisational integration of a software and system engineering project
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, testing, and delivery of technology-based projects into an operational environment
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, coordination and delivery of engineering works
  • Strong interpersonal skills, such as communication and negotiation, including the ability to express ideas and thoughts clearly and succinctly in both written and oral form
  • The ability to understand the relationship between technical and operational factors, safety and commercial outcomes, and impact on customers
  • The ability to consult and interpret functional and operational requirements and translate these into technical requirements for delivery
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office packages, especially Microsoft Project
