Job Description

We are seeking experienced Project Manager to be responsible for delivering programme/project outcomes within a large complex environment.
 
  • ACT LOCATION
  • JUNE 2018 CONTRACT + 2x 12 MONTH EXTENSIONS
  • AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS ONLY
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Providing strategic planning, mapping and modelling development;
  • Developing business cases with key business stakeholders;
  • Preparing high level and detailed costings;
  • Providing updates/presentations to multiple Programme Boards;
  • Managing project activities using established project management methodologies;
  • Developing project documentation to a high standard as specified by the Department's methodology within identified timeframes;
  • Preparing and maintaining the project schedule;
  • Building and developing stakeholder relationships;
  • Managing project risks and issues and escalate as appropriate;
  • Preparing progress reports;
  • Managing resources for project and/or programme;
  • Preparing and managing budgets, including updated forecasts;
  • Facilitating and conducting progress meetings, presentations and workshops;
  • Developing positive team ethos within the immediate workgroup and, in particular with business colleagues, through positive participation and communication;
  • Developing and maintaining strong effective working relationships with key management personnel and internal client base.  
 
Skills:
  • Demonstrated Project/Program Management experience;
  • 5+ years' experience as a project manager/program manager;
  • Excellent communications skills;
  • Proven understanding of the role of business areas in large projects;
  • Proven ability to manage client expectations;
  • Extensive experience in preparing high quality project management documentation (project plan, schedule, issues log, risk register, costings, budget and implementation plan);
  • Project Management PRINCE2 Practitioner certification;
  • Diploma of Project Management (BSB1415);
  • Member of Australian Institute of Project Management (MAIPM) with a current Certified Practicing Project Manager (CPPM) certification;
  • Member of Project Management Institute (PMI) with Australian Chapter Membership with a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification;
  • Equivalent Professional Membership and Certifications - APM (UK), IPMA.
