We are currently looking for a Reports Analyst for an until end of June 2020 contract + potential extension with a large government client based in Brisbane CBD.

The project:
The organisation is looking to extend and improve its existing business intelligence and reporting capabilities through its cloud-based information insights platform, which is predominantly built using Microsoft Azure Data and Analytics service. You will be working with other members of the information insights platform and other project teams to design, establish, and operationalize data models required for reporting and analytics, using Microsoft Azure services.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Review existing data sources and reports
  • Design and build data models required to support reporting
  • Design and build new Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Develop a data dictionary
  • Work with the business subject matter experts to test and validate new reports and analytics
  • Work with business subject matter experts to identify and recommend optimisation and consolidation opportunities
  • Provide guidance, training and skills transfer to key business and functional support staff so that they can take over report creation and maintenance of reports in to the future.
  • Liaise with technical staff, business representatives, and management for project design, testing, and service transition 
  • Incident trouble shooting and resolution as required
Competencies and Skill Level:
  • Determining reporting requirements
  • Designing reports and dashboards
  • Developing semantic models to support self-service reporting and analytics
  • Microsoft Power BI and Azure Analysis Services
  • Possess experience within an ICT Project environment including demonstrated experience in:
  • Impact analysis
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Training and Performance Support
  • Business Readiness
  • Possess high-level communication skills including the ability to
  • Provide effective communication to staff
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and training sessions if required
  • Present complex subject matter to senior management and critical stakeholders
