Talent International are currently recruiting for an experienced Shared Services Officer with strong Workers Compensation knowledge to work for one of our NSW Government departments based in Burwood.  This position will initially be a 3 month contract with the possibility of being extended.

Primary purpose of the role:

The Shared Services Officer Workers Compensation provides a high standard of customer service in a business support role ensuring quality, prompt and efficient service and advice to clients in relation to managing claims, within delegated authority, in compliance with NSW legislation.The position is responsible for maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders and ensuring implementation of strategies designed to minimise costs and premiums such as, follow up of medical certificates and medical accounts, wage recoup and potential closure of no longer active files. It works in a team environment, assisting and complementing the work of others in Injury & Claims Management and ensuring that the customer receives the best service possible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide the administrative support required in providing services across a broad range of Workers Compensation services
  • Maintain factual file notes and update all relevant computerised applications keeping all information secure and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with agreed procedures and practices
  • Processing of new claims, payments, scanning of documents to the claims management system and finalising of claims
  • Ensure all processing tasks are completed within the agreed legislative and business timeframes.
  • Understand and apply standard operating procedures (SOPs) for transactional processes and acknowledge situations that are outside SOPS or precedent
  • Use a range of computer systems and technology solutions as part of standard operating processes
  • Generate letters and other modes of communication as part of a process when required
  • Prepare appropriate, timely and standard responses to correspondence, enquires or to confirm issues or actions
  • Maintain a high standard of service to managers and staff from across the Transport Cluster and other external contacts
  • Resolve enquiries from a variety of internal and external parties or seek assistance in resolving enquiries in a timely manner
  • Communicate information effectively orally, in written form and via technology
  • Be prepared to seek advice or access precedents to responds to queries, issues or concerns
  • Identify areas requiring improvement to systems and process
  • Develop and maintain capabilities across different aspects of Injury & Claims Management
  • Develop and maintain expertise in a range of computerised systems involved in transaction processing or data retrieval
  • Keep up to date with procedural, legislative and information systems changes
  • Accept opportunities for job rotation within Injury & Claims Management to increase knowledge and capacity
  • Work in a cooperative and enthusiastic manner to achieve performance standards
  • Work within regulatory and organisational policies, systems and procedures
