As part of the Media/Social Media team for this large Council, you will work across multiple portfolios and deliver integrated social, media and communications strategies in partnership with corporate media and communications advisers. 

Your brand new role will see you recommend and develop online engagement plans using social media tools, sites, and online collaborative tools, to support the overall content, media and communications strategies.

Key accountabilities
  • Lead all things for video content production (including planning, shooting, and post-production)
  • Maintain effective relationships with journalists, writers, editors and producers in many different sectors 
  • Work on key social media videos and projects to ensure they are of a consistent high quality and exceed all expectations
  • Work autonomously and with the Media, and Communications Team and Social Media Unit to ideate and conceptualise, script and storyboard
  • Experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, trends and applications and appropriately apply that knowledge to increasing the use of social media 
Key skills and experience 
  • You will be a digital storyteller who feels at home in a production environment - that means working with deadlines and approvals across various departments and social channels
  • Experience with the Adobe product suite is essential (Photoshop, Premiere Pro or equivalent)
  • Previous videography experience, capable of end to end content production - you can plan, shoot, edit and post across platforms
  • Extensive demonstrated experience across all aspects of social media, including being an active participant in a wide variety of social media activities such as video, Instagram stories, blogging, commenting etc
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing online engagement plans and strategies using social media sites and online collaborative tools
