Job Description

Our client is looking for a Wintel/VMWare/Cloud support administrator who is skilled in windows administration, VMWare and Azure administration to join/assist the level 2 support team to manage core business infrastructure.

The role requires technical skills across multiple platforms to ensure operational service levels are maintained while delivering exceptional customer service. Core functions of the role include diagnosing, prioritising and resolving incidents, fulfilling service requests, raising changes and developing low-medium complexity changes to enhance business systems. Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills are required to effectively liaise with customers and the IT team.                                         
Experience required:
  • Availability and monitoring of AD/DNS/DHCP Group Policy and period reviews for optimisation and relevancy AD Sites & Services period reviews for optimisation and relevancy Certificate Services (New, Renewal, Revocation)  
  • Availability and monitoring of Server 2003+ operating systems including backup technologies and techniques Management of Administrator access across environment
  • Capacity management
  • Management of Azure virtual machines and IAAS
  • Ability to identify improvements to be made to Azure configurations and billing.
  • Ensuring NTFS permissions are set as requested on file shares Patch compliance using automation tools (WSUS/SCCM)
  • Storage capacity planning and management
  • Standardise environment configurations & monitoring
  • Availability and monitoring of VMware environment Patch compliance using VUM Ensuring redundancy configured correctly where applicable (redundant NICs / VMware HA)
  • Compute / Storage capacity planning and management
  • Availability and monitoring of Exchange environment (CAS/DAG) Ensuring cumulative updates installed as per schedule Mailbox database capacity planning and management
  • Availability and management of Sophos mail gateway
  • Promote and Manage Virtualised server platform
  • Manage and support the Citrix presentation farm
  • Implement, maintain (upgrade, patch) IT security. Ensure IT Security procedures are adhered to
  • Conduct DR testing
  • Support outage windows for upgrades, patching
  • Manage and maintain centralised software deployment of business and infrastructure applications
  • Ensure Endpoint protection of individual servers and workstations
  • Management of server asset life cycles
