About the role
As the successful candidate you will deliver Mission Support Services, carrying out mission planning and related tasks. You will serve as a subject matter expert on OMSE and JMPS systems, and critical F-35 mission software data.
 

Responsibilities
As the Senior Strategic Mission Planner, your day-to-day duties will include:
  • Assisting/managing the loading of cryptographic material onto the Off-board Mission Support (OMS) workstations
  • Managing all settings of OMS/JMPS to ensure they meet standards
  • Carrying out mission planning and mission planning related tasks as directed
  • Attending and participating in mission briefing and debriefing as required
  • Using source data, programs sensors and weapons profiles and translates mission requirements into effective electronic mission plans
  • Builds end-to-end standardized mission plans
  • Performs OMS technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, supportability and effectiveness analysis for mission planning and air vehicle systems
  • Provides OMS technical guidance in support of the software operations for the Mission Planning, Theatre Data Generation, Tactical/Intel Debrief, Air Vehicle Authentication & Crypto, Key Management, and Air Vehicle Secure Interface capabilities of the system
  • Creating/Reviewing training materials for the Pilot Training Centre throughout the enterprise
  • Attending and contributing to customer meetings as required
  • Gathering, summarising, interpreting, reporting, and maintaining information regarding MSS activities
  • Represent the organisation in providing solutions to difficult technical issues 
 

Essential Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year's experience with a military aircraft mission planning system, and
  • Minimum of one year's experience in a military aviation operating environment (e.g. intelligence support to fighter operations)
  • Experience with radar, electronic warfare, electro-optical targeting, and fire control systems
  • Experience with precision weapons and PGMPS
  • Experience with Link 16/Datalinks
  • COMSEC handling experience

  • Role is based in the Northern Territory (can not be be done remotely)

  • Must have NV2 clearance with the ability to obtain PV clearance
