Job Description

The creative might of Australias top draw agency is looking to add a superstar front-end Technical Leader with React in their arsenal.

As the senior member of the Digital Development team, the Technical Lead is responsible for day-to-day management, mentoring and development of the exceptionally talented group developers.

The Technical Lead will serve as the primary contact for the Digital Delivery Director (and Producers) in matters relating to functional and technical scoping, problem-solving and solutions architecture and will provide support in Client meetings and new business pitches when required. They will support the growth of the digital business through technology product and partnership developments that enhance their offering to Clients.

The Technical Lead is also responsible for executing development project tasks (coding) to support the team and agency. They see this as approximately 60% of the role but it may fluctuate depending on workloads and priorities.

Key responsibilities  
  
Team management
*    Manage and mentor the Development/Technology team
*    Leadership and motivation of the department
*    Conduct staff performance reviews for the team
*    Support team members in defining, setting and meeting their development goals
*    Oversee project delivery by the Development team
*    Support the Development team when necessary through troubleshooting and problem solving with them 
*    Work with HR to recruit, onboard and train new team members
*    Develop and maintain a pool of quality, trusted freelance and outsource development resources both locally and offshore (where applicable)
*    Working with the Executive Operations Director to ensure effective department resourcing levels to achieve the utilisation and contribution per head targets

Technical management 
*    Provide technical support to Agency teams 
*    Ensure the most appropriate technologies and platforms are utilised in delivering digital projects
*    Keep the Agency informed on emerging technologies and development methodologies in the digital space
*    Manage digital production environments including source control, hosting and staging/testing environments. Maintain central log
*    Managing digital production licencing and maintain central log
*    Ensure development "best practices' are constantly researched and employed throughout the team
*    Ensure testing and quality assurance is carried out on every project and that standards remain consistently high
*    Ensure team delivers to standards that meet process, QA, best practice, timelines and budgets 
*    Work with Delivery Director to continually improve performance, process and service
*    Work with the Strategy, UX and Creative teams to provide tech involvement in early project stages including  developing and scoping technical solutions, inputting into proactive ideas
*    Promote the services of the team internally to help them develop their profile

Group relationships
*    Provide technical support to the group on creative technology projects
*    Build relationships, and identify opportunities, to provide technical support to the agency where relevant 
*    Ensure the department delivers to its financial metrics targets
*    Make team/business improvements that help reduce costs and improve profitability of the department

Client relationship and business building 
*    Technical lead on all accounts, supporting Client Service and Producers in Client meetings if technical support is required
*    Assisting the Agency teams to identify and offer new digital technology services and proactive ideas to Clients
*    Support the Agency teams in providing tech research and information for new business pitches if required
Education & knowledge sharing
*    Share technology knowledge with agency staff and its clients, with the aim of improving digital competency
*    Identify and share innovative/emerging product and technology solutions relevant to our Clients' businesses
*    Continue with the ADMA Code School

Skills and Experience  
*    8+ years digital creative agency experience delivering digital marketing campaigns (websites, landing pages, web forms, banners) and eCRM programmes
*    Developer background/experience - strong focus on front-end programming languages and frameworks, React.JS is the library of choice.
*    Node.JS is their back-end of choice - Wordpress experience a bonus
*    Experience in hosting environments, managing domains and website deployment
*    Understanding of back-end integration technologies, particularly database integration
*    Experience in (or passion for) eCRM/Marketing Automation
*    Familiar with platform products such as Adobe Marketing Cloud, Salesforce, Traction, Marketo, WordPress, Sitecore, Drupal
*    Experience/passion for personalized, data-driven dynamic experiences & communications
*    Passion for researching and utilizing new and emerging technologies, inc Amazon and Google services, AI, VR etc
*    Experience as a team leader, managing developer teams and external partners/contractors
*    Experience in identifying, driving and managing creative technology opportunities
*    Demonstrates a collaborative approach
*    Demonstrates business and commercial skills
*    Experience and comfortable being in front of clients
*    Strong communication skills and ability to present if required
*    Passion for technology and a dedication to continual improvement
