Technology Planning Specialist, part-time 24 hours p/week

About the role;

The Technology Planning Specialist works in an established team and reports to the IT Planning Manager, the role plays a critical role in helping the team to achieve their technology goals by:
 
  • Maintaining the integrated and consolidated Technology Portfolio including Demand to Value and associated processes and practices;
  • Conducting Portfolio and Project Governance, Business Investment Evaluation and Benefits Realisation activities within our Technology Portfolio Office;
  • Maintaining the consolidated Technology Budget and associated processes and practices;
  • Assisting with the review and planning process to enable development and maintenance of the Technology Business Plan and related outputs as required.
Skills/ experience sought;
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, technology or related field preferred
  • Formal Portfolio / Program / Project Management certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of systems delivery lifecycle and portfolio/program/project management processes and principles
  • Ability to analyse, aggregate, communicate and present complex issues and ideas with absolute precision and clarity
  • Able to manage multiple tasks/priorities simultaneously, respond to work with urgency, identifying the necessary steps and moving forward through completion
  • Extensive understanding of value creation assessment and monitoring practices
  • Proven ability to apply financial insights and draw accurate conclusions from financial and other quantitative information
  • Knowledge and experience with implementing systems and processes, including standards and procedures
  • Ability to easily build relationships with stakeholders, peers and leadership at different levels of the organisation
  • Experience working in large scale organisations in a geographically disperse team
  • 5+ years' experience in portfolio/program/project management, encompassing the full life cycle of prioritisation, planning, execution, testing, implementation and BAU handover
  • 5+ years' experience in P&L analysis, zero-based budgeting and budget management processes and practices
  • 3+ years' experience in strategic business planning
  • 3+ years' experience in business investment evaluation using industry processes and practices including NPV and IRR
  • 3+ years' benefits realisation practices
