About the role
Our client is seeking the services of a TechOps Engineer to provide expert operational support to our nodes running in the cloud. As part of this position, you will be required to perform the following tasks;
  • Liaise with customer's engineers in resolving issues with Apache Cassandra
  • Undertake complex cluster operations such as migrations
  • Ensuring that customer issues are responded to within SLA timeframes
  • Identify and drive the implementation of opportunities to continuously improve TechOps
  • Development and maintenance of tools and procedures
  • Provide training to new team members and customers

Skills and Experience
  • Good fundamental computer science / software engineering skills and knowledg,
  • Programming skills in Python, Java, bash scripting, SQL, and source code control
  • Exceptional ability to communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal
  • Demonstrated excellent experience with managing teams
  • Review inefficiencies in the existing process/procedures within Technical Operations
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, this is a critical attribute to have in this role
